Duck hunter finds body in Chippewa River

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WSAW) - A death investigation is underway after a body was found in the Chippewa River.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office says crews were called to the Porterville boat landing in the Township of Brunswick around 5:40 p.m. Thursday evening, after a duck hunter called to report he had found a body.

The body was located up stream from the boat landing. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, according to WEAU-TV.

The Eau Claire County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by Township Fire, Eau Claire police and the Eau Claire County Medical Examiner's Office.
