It's been a quiet stretch of weather lately for southeast Wisconsin.
The last rainfall was almost a week ago as you can see from the May precipitation calendar. To date this is the 12th driest May on records since those began in 1871. And even beyond things have been lackluster for rainfall. The last six weeks show that the city of Milwaukee if behind on rainfall over three and a quarter inches. And this trend doesn't look to break for the rest of the month. And now it's starting to show. Much of Sheboygan, Kenosha and a sliver of Racine counties now showing level one drought conditions. Anyone looking to keep their gardens healthy and yards green will have to do some watering in the days ahead. The next chance for rain holds off until the start of June. Check back for the weekly drought monitor which comes out every Thursday.I'm meteorologist Rebecca Schuld
