Drone Video Shows Bluff Erosion in Mount Pleasant

Racine County has declared an emergency because of worsening erosion.

Mount Pleasant Village President Jerry Garski says the erosion has been happening for years, but with this year's high water level and recent storms it’s worse than it has ever been. 

County Executive Jonathan Delagrave issued a declaration of emergency yesterday which allows the county to close roads evacuate homes and ask the government for help.

Garski says if the problem isn’t taken care of now it will spread and the whole village will feel the effects.

One of the homeowners in Mount Pleasant said they are not waiting for officials to take action.

They have hired a crane to help try and help fix some of the damage.
