Driver rushed to hospital by helicopter following crash with semi-tractor in Dodge County

OAK GROVE, Wis.  (CBS 58) --  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Friday, Oct. 15, near STHY 33 east of the intersection with Sunset Road in the Township of Oak Grove, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Officials say the collision happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The Sheriff's office reports that a 2012 Honda passenger car was traveling west on STHY 33 and a 2017 Kenworth semi-tractor with an enclosed trailer was traveling east on STHY 33.

Authorities say the Honda crossed the center roadway line and the two vehicles collided.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office announced that the operator of the Honda sustained severe injuries and was transported by LifeNet helicopter to Aurora Hospital in Summit.

Records indicate that the operator of the Kenworth was not injured in the crash, but a passenger in the Kenworth sustained minor injuries.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the Wisconsin State Patrol, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Juneau EMS, LifeNet helicopter, Horicon Fire Department, Juneau Fire Department, Dodge County Highway Department and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team helped assist with the crash.

STHY 33 was reportedly closed for just under four hours as the crash was being investigated Friday morning.
