Driver in Custody After Hitting and Killing at Least Five Bikers in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (CBSNEWS) -- At least five people were killed Tuesday when a group of bicyclists was struck by a vehicle, CBS affiliate WWMT reported.

Investigators told the station nine people in all were hit when a vehicle came up behind them. The driver was in custody.

A local hospital was treating at least two patients, but their conditions were not released.

In addition to Michigan State Police, the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department and Kalamazoo Township Police were on scene, according to WWMT.
