Driver cited for second OWI after going over 100 mph

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A man is cited for his second OWI after the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department says he was going over 100 miles per hour.

The Department says a deputy patrolling I-94 near the Corners of Brookfield saw a vehicle traveling westbound going 88 mph around 12:45 a.m. Friday and swerving between lanes.

As the deputy tried to catch up to the driver, the driver appeared to accelerate to speeds over 100 mph. When the driver pulled over, he told the deputy he was coming from a bar. The driver, a 32-year-old man, had a suspended driver’s license and failed field sobriety tests. The Sheriff’s Office says the man was given a PBT and the results were 0.132.

The man was issued multiple traffic citations including second offense OWI, speeding, unsafe lane deviation, and operating after suspension.
