🎶Straight No Chaser Previews Summerfest Performance, Upcoming Tours

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Acapella group Straight No Chaser is gearing up for a return to Wisconsin, bringing its signature harmonies, humor and audience interaction to Summerfest this summer.

The nine-member vocal group joined CBS 58 Morning News Anchor Alex Corradetti to preview their July 4 performance and share details about two upcoming tours.

"We love being in Milwaukee, and being a part of Summerfest is going to be such a treat," the group said.

Straight No Chaser will perform at Summerfest on July 4 from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. During the interview, members said fans can expect much more than just music.

"We're going to be interacting with the audience. We're going to have them singing, dancing and partying with us," they said. "Beach Bash is not a fake name. It's very intentional."

The Summerfest stop is part of the group's Beach Bash Tour, which runs throughout June and July across the Midwest and East Coast. Later this year, Straight No Chaser will launch its holiday-themed Making Spirits Bright Tour.

According to the group, the holiday show will feature a mix of seasonal favorites and contemporary hits.

"About half the show will be our holiday music," members explained. "The first act will be all non-holiday music, everything from the '50s to what's on the radio today."

Known for their polished harmonies, Straight No Chaser recently celebrated 30 years together after forming at Indiana University. Members said years of performing together have helped them develop a unique musical chemistry.

"Nobody knows our voices better than us," they said, noting that many of the group's vocal arrangements are created by members themselves.

For those who have never seen the group perform live, Straight No Chaser said the energy of the show is what they're most excited to share.

"The thing we're most excited about bringing is just the excitement," they said. "This is going to be an absolute party."
