Downtown Milwaukee Street Closures Planned for Republican Debate

There will be street closures on Tuesday for Republican debate which is being held in the Milwaukee Theatre.

Starting at 12:00 PM on November 10, Kilbourn Avenue and State Street will be closed from 4 to 6 Streets to vehicle traffic.

The GOP debate is a ticketed event, is sold out, and only those with tickets may enter the event.

Starting at 12:00 PM on Tuesday access to the Milwaukee Theatre, the UWM Panther Arena, and adjacent sidewalks will be limited.  Those without a ticket to the debate will be prohibited from entering the facilities.

Those who wish to demonstrate or protest are asked to go to a pre-designated area at the southwest corner of 4 and Kilbourn Avenue.

Those who are attending the Bucks game on Tuesday evening should enter from the north to access the Bradley Center to ease pedestrian movement.

Parking in areas near the Bradley Center and Milwaukee Theatre will be in high demand.  Those coming to the area are asked to plan ahead by allowing extra travel time, prepare to walk several blocks to the events, or use public transportation.

MPD will have extra officers in the area to ensure safety and security, and to assist the public during the event.
