Doors Open Milwaukee helps new businesses flourish

MILWAUKEE -- 150 historic buildings, thousands of people, and free tours. It's all part of Doors Open Milwaukee.

Residents get the opportunity to tour buildings that are often not open to the public. It's also helping businesses like Our Daily Salt.

For years the historic property at 3519 National sat vacant until recently it was restored by former chef, Felisha Wild. The store now sells hand carved cooking tools.

Wild says, \"Anytime you can get people to come in and take a look at your business and get exposure, it's an excellent way to show what you're all about.\"

Wild also taught people on the tour about the 1920's grocery store, the original details, and educate people about the neighborhood.

The event runs through Sunday the 21st. To see more details click HERE.
