Summer Gallery Night MKE returns this weekend with 50+ art venues
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Dozens of four-legged friends landed in Waukesha on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The dogs come from southern California, where wildfires devastated the area.
The plane carrying the dogs landed at Crites Field in Waukesha.
Approximately 50 dogs were expected.
The dogs were already in shelters and available for adoption before the fires broke out.
The fires have led to more displaced dogs, so these pets were moved to make room out west.
The Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha will care for the dogs.
After being checked over medically, the dogs should be available for adoption in a few days.
