MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee continues to gear up for next year's Democratic National Convention.
The president of the Milwaukee 2020 host committee gave an update on organizing efforts.
Liz Gilbert addressed the Greater Milwaukee Committee during their monthly meeting Monday. Gilbert gave examples of how the convention can benefit Milwaukee even after it ends.
"In just the year after the 2016 RNC convention, Cleveland saw a 30-percent growth in meetings in other events," she said. "And since hosting the 2000 RNC, Philadelphia has hosted a variety of other major events."
Next year's DNC begins July 13th and ends on the 16th.
