MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One group is going dark to shine a light on vision loss patients on Thursday, Nov. 14.
It's called Dining in the Dark.
Here's how it works. About 250 people were invited to enjoy a four-course meal at the Wisconsin Club.
But there's a catch.
Everyone is blindfolded before picking up their forks and knives.
Vision Forward's CEO told CBS 58 that the experience can give people a deeper understanding of the challenges associated with blindness and vision loss.
"Throughout the course of the meal we're hoping they can reflect on not only some of the challenges that exist if they were to be blind tomorrow but even more importantly give them hope, that because of an organization, like vision forward there really is so much people with vision impairment can accomplish," said Jaclyn Borchardt, CEO, Vision Forward Association.
The event raises money for Vision Forward, a Wisconsin organization that provides a long list of services for people with vision loss.
