MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Wellpoint Care Network teamed up with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to host a second annual "Diapers for Dads" distribution event on Friday, Dec. 13, providing diapers and resources to fathers in need this holiday season.
The effort collected 20,000 diapers this year, doubling its initial goal of 10,000, with donations continuing to arrive. Organizers expect to assist more than 200 families.
"A father came in from last year earlier today and he let us know that he actually got full custody of his child through some of the resources that we had available last year, which just made my heart happy, because if I can help at least one father I feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing," said Andrew Bronner IV, community engagement coordinator at Wellpoint Care Network.
Pre-wrapped gifts for fathers to bring home to their children, along with additional resources from local organizations, were also provided.
