1 killed, 1 injured in double shooting near 26th and Walnut

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee family is grieving a 39-year-old man shot and killed early Friday morning, Aug. 28, on what they say is his son's birthday.

Family identified the victim as Michael Jackson, saying he was a loving person and a good father.
Police say the shooting happened just after 3:30 a.m. near 26th and Walnut. Investigators say someone in a car opened fire on two people, hitting both. Jackson died at the scene.
The other victim, a 33-year-old, was taken to the hospital with non-fatal injuries.
"He was like a best friend, like a brother you haven't had before," Jackson's family member said. "He was a loving person."
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
