Despite win, Badgers drop in latest AP poll

NEW YORK - Wisconsin's 13th straight win in the Battle for Paul Bunyan's Axe did not impress voters in the Associated Press poll.

The Badgers dropped to #6 in the latest poll released Sunday. Michigan fell to fifth after their loss to Ohio State, while Clemson and Washington each rose one spot after closing out their regular seasons with victories.

The new college football playoff rankings will be released Tuesday, and they'll likely show a similar top six - Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Washington, Michigan, Wisconsin. The Badgers face Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game Saturday night, but it's becoming increasingly likely that Wisconsin needs a win and a loss from either Clemson or Washington to make it into the four-team playoff for college football's national championship.
