Marquette's Golden Eagles saw a 13 point lead slip away in the second half Wednesday night and dropped their Big East opener 61-58 to DePaul in Rosemont, Illinois.
Duane Wilson and Matt Carlino scored 11 points each, but DePaul's run in the game's final ten minutes negated a strong first 30 minutes from the Golden Eagles (8-5). Marquette had two chances to tie the game in the final seconds, but missed a couple of three point attempts.
Marquette hosts Providence Saturday in its first conference game of the season at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
