Dane County inmate given Narcan

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – A Dane County inmate was given Narcan after she lost consciousness while at the jail.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says around 2:00 a.m. Monday the 26-year-old inmate lost consciousness during a medical check by Dane County deputies and a jail nurse. She was then given Narcan, a drug used to treat drug overdoses, and taken to an area hospital by ambulance. She was said to be conscious, alert, and breathing when she left in the ambulance.

After she was treated, she was taken back to the jail and placed in female segregation for continued monitoring.

Investigators say she was arrested and booked into the jail on Friday on charges of drug possession and bail jumping. No new charges have been added since the medical event.
