Cyber security experts converge at Marquette University

On the heels of several major cyber security breaches Marquette University will host the 2014 Cyber Security Summit Wednesday, October 8th. Governor Scott Walker will attend.

During an exclusive interview with 60 Minutes on Sunday, FBI Director James Comey did very little to calm fears that Americans' financial information is safe. Comey says there are \"many, many, many\" separate attacks from Chinese hackers every day. He went on to say, \"there are two kinds of big companies in the United States... those who've been hacked by the Chinese and those who don't know they've been hacked by the Chinese.\"

Recently Home Depot and JP Morgan Chase customers were informed of a possible breach. The events have left many financial and security institutions scrambling for answers. Wednesday's summit at Marquette University is a daylong event meant to bring national and international cyber security experts together with government officials. The goal is to discuss the threat of cyber attacks and how they can be reduced or prevented.

The Cyber Security Summit will be held at Marquette University, Alumni Memorial Union, Monaghan Ballroom, 1442 West Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee. Click here for more information from the Department of Homeland Security.
