Crews respond to fire in Whitefish Bay, no one hurt

WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) – Authorities responded to a fire at a home in Whitefish Bay early Monday morning.

Crews responded to the home near Devon St. and N. Bay Ridge Ave. around 2:02 a.m.

Authorities say two adults and two children were able to get out of the home safely. The fire started in the basement furnace room in a dehumidifier unit.

Damage to the home is estimated at $30,000.

Fire crews express the importance of digging out fire hydrants, having working smoke alarms and making sure you check any recalls of equipment in your home.
