Court Nixes Rule Against Hosting Underage Parties

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin appeals court has struck down a Fond du Lac County ordinance that prohibits adults from hosting underage drinkers in their homes.

Stuart Muche, who was cited last year for hosting underagers at his Van Dyne home, argued the ordinance is stricter than state law, which he contends bars adults from hosting underagers in bars and liquor stores rather than private residences.

The 2nd District Court agreed with him.
