Contigo recalls kids water bottles sold at Target, Walmart and Costco due to choking hazard

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Contigo has recalled their Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles as of August 27, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

They say the water bottle's clear silicone spout can detach, posing a choking hazard to children.

Officials say Contigo has received 149 reports of the spout detaching, including 18 incidents when spouts were found in children's mouths.

These products are sold at Costco, Walmart, Target and online on various websites.

Consumers should immediately stop using these bottles, keep them away from children, and contact Contigo for inspection instructions. Contigo says their recalled line of kids water bottles has both a black spout base and spout cover.
