Milwaukee County Court CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An 89-year-old woman charged for a hit-and-run involving a child in Cudahy appeared in court Wednesday morning, Jan. 7.
Records show the court found reason to believe Darlene Adam is not competent to proceed, and the judge submitted an order for a competency examination.
Police say Adam failed to stop at a stop sign before hitting a 9-year-old girl who was walking to school back in October.
She later told police she thought she hit a rock or construction barrel.
The accident left the child with a concussion and road rash.
Adam is due back in court Feb. 9.
