MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Community organizations continue to lend a helping hand to the over 70 people displaced by a fire last week in Milwaukee.
Tuesday, a multiagency community resource center was running to get the people displaced by a fire late last week at Sherman Garden Apartments the help they need.
From clothes to help with emergency SNAP benefits, it was a place people could turn to try to regain their sense of normalcy. One man tells CBS 58 he appreciates all the help, but starting from zero with no sense of security is extremely difficult.
"It's real unfortunate to be homeless right now, to be without a home at this time, because there is so much snatch and grab going on right now," Marvin Herron said.
Herron, like many displaced, has been staying at a local shelter since the fire. If you would like to help, the Red Cross encourages you to donate financially. To donate online, visit their website.
