Community Mourns The Loss of 8th Grader Killed in Dodge County Crash
A Dodge County teen has died from his injuries after he was thrown from a vehicle in a crash last week.
A tragedy of this kind stuns any community, but this one is especially tough because there are only around 200 kids at this school. Most, if not all of them, knew 14-year-old Cade Werner.
Last Friday morning, Cade was in a car driven by a 16-year-old. According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, the car went off the road, spun around, and flipped. Cade was thrown from the car. He was taken by Flight for Life to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee where he died yesterday evening.
It's been a tough few days here at Honor Intermediate where Cade was in 8th grade.
He played basketball, baseball, and was well-liked.
"Well respected by his peers, quiet at times, but one of those students you liked to have in class," the Superintendent Dennis Kaczor said.
Counselors are on hand to help students and teachers deal with what happened, they will stay for as long as they're needed.
