A warm but slightly dry June comes to an end as we look ahead...
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- National Gun Violence Awareness Day is Friday, June 2, and community leaders were at Coffee Makes You Black on Teutonia, trying to educate and inform people on the consequences of gun violence.
"We gotta help these young people understand there's a better way to process our anger. Listen, I'm like David Banner. The Hulk is always inside of me but we keep it in there as a man because we know at the end of the day, I'm not trying to sit in prison for 40 years from one mistake. Because once you pull that trigger there's no turning back," said Rev. Doyle Sprewer, Milwaukee Fire Department chaplain.
One of the central messages at Friday's event: how strong relationships within your family and within your community can make your streets safer.
