Coach Mike McCarthy signs new multi-year contract with Packers

Head Coach Mike McCarthy signed a new multi-year contract the Green Bay Packers. Packers GM Ted Thompson says, \"We are very happy to extend our relationship with Mike.\"

Coach McCarthy, who is in his ninth season with the Packers, has six playoff appearances, four division titles, an NFC Championship and a Super Bowl title. Coach McCarthy is the third ranked coach in Packers history in games won. \"Over the past nine years, he's provided great stability and consistency to the Packers organization and our community as an excellent coach and leader,\" says Thompson.

The Packers are one of two teams to make the playoffs each of the last five seasons. 

The details of Coach McCarthy's new contract has not been released by the Packers organization.
