MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Residents at Clement Manor put together packages for people who are unhoused in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Dec. 10, just in time for the holidays.
The packages have a ton of supplies like Band-Aids, wet wipes, food, emergency blankets and other winter necessities.
The project has been going on for several years and is in partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department District 1.
Clement Manor's chairman tells CBS 58, the effort benefits both the residents and people who are homeless.
"A group of residents are voluntarily participating in an activity that is both socially and intellectually stimulating and, in the process, they are doing something that many of them of said over the years this is bigger than themselves," said Phil Dougherty, Clement Manor board chairman.
MPD District 1 will deliver the packages to those who need it soon.
