City of Racine beaches to open June 5

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- City of Racine Parks, Recreation and Culture Services (PRCS) will open North Beach on Saturday, June 5.

Officials say lifeguards will be on duty and will begin guarding seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. North Beach Parks closes at 10 p.m. 

No motor boats, wind surfers or floating devices are allowed in the protected swim area. Swimmers are encouraged to only swim in the protected area. Officials say alcoholic beverages, motorized vehicles, glass containers, fire, and pets are not allowed in the park and beach area by City of Racine Ordinance.

PRCS also announced a three part concert series beginning July 1 in partnership with the Dr. Martin Luther King Center. Officials say the "Hot Summer Nights" concert series will be held at the center in Racine. 

Groove Line will perform July 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Chicken Grease will perform July 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. High Stakes will perform Aug. 3 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Concerts are free and open to the public.
