City of Milwaukee may allow electric scooters to return by summer

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee is talking about possibly allowing electric scooters to return to the streets.

At City Hall Wednesday, March 10, a common council committee considered a pilot program that would bring back those scooters by summer.

A final decision on the proposal was delayed.

Milwaukee allowed the scooters on a trial basis in 2019.

The DPW got 67 reports of crashes and 141 complaints, mostly about people riding on the sidewalk.
