City of Milwaukee expected to present plan to raze Northridge Mall property

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee is expected to present its plan to raze or tear down the Northridge Mall property that's been at the center of a legal battle for years.

The owners of the property, U.S. Black Spruce Enterprises, continue to appeal the court's raze order which required it to turn in a plan to deal with the building 10 days ago.

No such plan is on public record.

Now, after Black Spruce asked for an extension because of the holiday, the city is expected to present a plan on how to deal with the property Monday, Nov. 28.

Recent inspections show the property is still not considered secure. Courts have ordered Black Spruce to pay a $2,000 per day fine dating back to Aug. 19 until it is secure.

Meanwhile, Black Spruce is also in a legal battle with its former attorneys on the case, who say they're owed more than $150,000 in fees that were never paid.

There's a hearing on that case Jan. 19.
