MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee had their 178th birthday celebration on Thursday, Jan. 25.
Community and business leaders joined the Milwaukee Press Club to celebrate the city.
They celebrated with cake, and even sang 'Happy Birthday."
The birthday theme was "Vote for Milwaukee," highlighting Milwaukee's upcoming events, including hosting the Republican National Convention.
"This year in particular just holds so much excitement for Milwaukee, so I think tonight we're just going to have a packed room full of very happy Milwaukeeans," said Claire Koenig, member of the board of directors for the Milwaukee Press Club.
The Republican National Convention is taking place inside Fiserv Forum July 15 to July 18.
