MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Santa Claus made a stop at Brown Street Academy Monday, making sure kids are prepared for winter weather.
City of Faith Church donated hundreds of gloves, hats, and socks to students there.
Organizers say kids can’t choose a path to success if they can’t even secure basics.
"If they desire to be rich, they’re at the right school to learn how to read and how to count,” said Dr. Michael Cokes with City of Faith Church. “You have to have the basic necessities in life, they will reach their destiny if they keep reaching forward.”
The school says the donated hats and gloves will ensure that kids who don’t have proper clothing will now be able to make it to school safely in the winter months.
