Choral Arts Society ringing in Christmas season with 'Lessons and Carols' concert

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- In a celebration of tradition and musical storytelling, the Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin will present its 31st annual "Lessons and Carols" concert at the First Presbyterian Church in Racine on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.

This year's performance will offer a typically festive experience, weaving together a tapestry of English and American songs. Audiences will be treated to a program that spans from the Christmas story's prophecy and birth to the journey of the Wise Men and the mystery of the incarnation.

The concert will feature local artists, readers and the vocal talents of the Choral Arts Society.

In a press release, CAS Maestro James Schatzman expressed his enthusiasm for the event. "The festive atmosphere and music lift the spirits of all who attend while recounting the miraculous story of how love became incarnate in our world.

"The communal sharing of this special occasion is a wonderful way to begin the Holiday season," he added.

Adult tickets are priced at $18 in advance or $20 at the door, with senior tickets at $16 in advance or $18 at the door and student tickets at $7. Tickets can be purchased at Personal Touch by Julie in Racine or online by clicking here.
