Chilly July weather leaves Milwaukee County water park empty

West Allis - There is a chill in the air and it's not from the air conditioner.



Mother Nature is providing Southeastern Wisconsin with an unseasonably, cool breeze, leaving one area pool empty in mid-July.



CBS 58 stopped by Cool Waters at Greenfield Park Tuesday afternoon.



The pool water is heated to a temperature of 75 degrees, which is close to the normal high temperature of 80 degrees.



Instead, more than a dozen lifeguards wore jackets to stay warm while they watched over calm waters.



The only splishing and splashing to be heard came from one swimmer taking laps.



The weather may not be ideal for the pool, but it's perfect for an area father and son to do some fishing.



However, dad said the up and down summer temps are still disappointing and the people deserve better from Mother Nature.



\"We went through that winter, that was a horrendous winter,\" said Christ Kostopoulos. \"It was terrible, but now I'll take this, I'll take it. I'm fine. I'm not going to complain about this at all.\"
