Children's Wisconsin staff spreads joy to patients this Halloween

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Children's Wisconsin got into the Halloween spirit, bringing a little joy to the patients Monday, Oct. 31.

There was no trouble finding Waldo at the MACC Fund Center, and movie night came to life with the entire cast of Toy Story at a primary care clinic.

Doctors, nurses and clinical providers across Children's Wisconsin dressed up for the holiday and participated in costume contests to celebrate the day.

“Halloween brings out the kid in all of us. You see the excitement in our patients, and it makes our team happy to make them smile,” said Carey Ehlert, MD, NICU medical director, Children's Wisconsin, and associate professor of neonatology, Medical College of Wisconsin. “Every kid— even if you have to see your doctor or dentist or be in the hospital— deserves to have fun on Halloween.”

The costume contest was held virtually the last two years due to Covid-19, but this year, staff was able to participate again in-person and have their photos taken together.
