MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In honor of Juneteenth, Children's Wisconsin and Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful hosted their Midtown Clinic Community Cleanup Friday, June 18.
Volunteers picked up trash around the Midtown Center neighborhood on Milwaukee's northwest side.
One volunteer says the cleanup is one way to help improve the community.
"This is one of the many things you can do for the community to make it a lot better," said volunteer Ulysses Butler. "Make it more prosperous and to help the people to really see how, with a cleaner community, we can do a lot of greater things."
The event was sponsored by the Black Professionals and Allies Inclusion Resource Group.
Alderman Cavalier Johnson also called on area residents to join.
