Central Library Holds Street Party

Tonight you can be loud at the library.

The Milwaukee Public Library is hosting a street party outside its Central location to kick off a series called Library Loud Days.

The campaign challenges old beliefs that the library is a quiet place. Organizers say being quiet is a thing of the past. Now they want to transform libraries into lively and vibrant gathering places.

Tonight's kickoff event is a free concert and street party.

The fun starts at 5:30.

And if you live in the area, take note, Wisconsin Avenue will be blocked off between 8th and 9th Streets.
