MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With a variety of fun events taking place this weekend in the Milwaukee area, Joe Krauss from B93.3 joined us on Friday, April 21 to go over some highlights.
Northwestern Mutual Community Park is open for children ages 2 - 12. The park is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on non-event days and during Summerfest, ethnic and cultural festivals. Admission is free and parking is available in Lot G. The park's hours are subject to change depending on weather and events.
In celebration of Earth Day, an event called "Bee the Change" is scheduled for Saturday at the Mitchell Park Domes from 2-4 p.m. Visitors can learn about bees and their favorite flowers, with a presentation and guided tour by Charlie "CharBee" Koenen. The event also includes honey samples and a human-size honeybee mascot.
Record Store Day returns on Saturday, featuring deals, special releases and in-store performances at local independent record stores. Participating stores include Rush-Mor Records, Bullseye Records, Lilliput Records, Acme Records and Volta Records.
The Milwaukee Brewers are back in town for a home series against the Boston Red Sox. Sunday home games offer opportunities for children to run the bases and get autographs. Fans can reserve a spot to go down Bernie's slide, and the new Barrel Yard restaurant is open during games.
