CBS 58 News Anchor Jessica Tighe’s Go-To Game Day Snack

Just days before Super Bowl 50 airs on CBS 58, our morning news team shared their favorite snacks for the big game.

News Anchor Jessica Tighe loves to make bacon-wrapped brown sugar smokies.

"I've made them for at least three Super Bowl parties and people always give them rave reviews," Tighe said.

Ingredients:

1 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds

1 (14 ounce) package of beef cocktail wieners

¾ cup brown sugar, or to taste

Prep Time:          45 minutes

Cook Time:         45 minutes

Ready In:            1.5 hours

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Refrigerate 2/3 of the bacon until needed. It is easier to wrap the wieners with cold bacon. Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.

Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.
