Cause of early morning house fire under investigation

Milwaukee Fire Department and Police Department investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning fire in a home on Milwaukee’s north side.   According to MFD authorities, the fire was discovered around 2:15 AM in a single family home at  N 12^th Street near W Atkinson Avenue.  The fire was located on the first floor of the 1.5 story, wood frame home.  The cause is being investigated as possibly incendiary in nature.  The people in the home were able to evacuate without injury and no one was displaced by the fire.  Damage is estimated at $45,900 to the home and contents.   Fire fighters were on scene for about an hour.
