Carlino's 21 not quite enough for Marquette at St. John's

Matt Carlino scored 21 points, but Marquette couldn't hold the momentum for a full 40 minutes in a 60-57 loss at St. John's Wednesday night.

The Golden Eagles took a lead late in the second half on a Sandy Cohen III layup with less than five minutes to play. But back to back buckets from Sir'Dominic Pointer gave St. John's the lead for good in the game's final minutes.

Derrick Wilson put up one of the season's more unusual stat lines for MU - in 31 minutes, Wilson attempted one shot - a three pointer - and missed. Yet Wilson grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists for Marquette (10-8, 2-4 Big East).
