Bus riders can monitor balances online with MCard

The Milwaukee County Transit System announced a new system where riders can check balances and add money to card online.
Updates to the M•CARD can be made on a computer or smartphone. The new service also allows people to register their cards in case they are lost or stolen.
M•CARD Online is still in beta but is live at RideMCTS.com for all users.
“We’ve made huge improvements to the transit system in the past few years, including more routes, newer buses and of course this new technology,” Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele said. “M•CARD Online makes riding easier and more convenient than ever to connect to work, school and everywhere else MCTS takes you.”
M•CARD saves money versus paying with cash ($1.75 vs $2.25). All riders receive a free 90-minute transfer when they pay with their M•CARD.
Passengers can still buy and update their smart cards at more than 90 locations across Milwaukee County.
