Burlington woman killed in collision with box truck in Village of Rochester

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Burlington woman has died following a crash in the Village of Rochester.

It happened just after 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities responded to the scene for a two-vehicle accident involving one vehicle that rolled over on CTH-A/Plank Road at CTH-J/N. English Settlement Avenue.

Deputies found a sedan with severe front-end damage and a 22-foot box truck located on the ditch line of CTH-J.

Officials say an initial investigation showed the box truck was southbound on CTH-J and failed to stop at the stop sign at CTH-A for the westbound sedan.

The operator of the box truck, a 50-year-old man from Chicago, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the sedan, a 41-year-old woman from Burlington, died from her injuries at the scene.

An investigation is underway.
