Burlington (CBS 58)--The gentle Fox River in Burlington pales in comparison to what it was one year ago. That’s when the raging river rose to a record 16 and a half feet inundating much of Chocolate City USA and causing damage in the millions.
CBS58 made a trip back to this location in Racine County to see how they’re fairing all this time later. And no matter whom you ask, they’ll tell you collectively they’re stronger and more resilient than anything Mother Nature throws at you.
More than a half million dollars of grant money helped people get off their feet following the catastrophic flooding. If you’re someone still in need of assistance even a year after the event, there are local non profits able to help, like Love, Incorporated. I have a link to this organization right here.
