MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Volunteers took the time to give away winter coats to Milwaukee Public School students Wednesday, Dec. 9, and some star power was also on hand to help.
Milwaukee Bucks All-Star Khris Middleton was at LaFollete School along with employee volunteers from United Healthcare, handing out coats to students and family members -- socially distanced, of course.
The simple gesture goes a long way for students experiencing an unprecedented school year.
"It means a lot. I told him, he was excited, I told him he was picked to see him. He was just happy, and I told him and he couldn't wait," said Maurice Griffin, whose cousin met Middleton.
The event is part of Middleton's "12 Days of Khrismas" holiday initiative where he participates in 12 different acts of service with various people and community organizations in Wisconsin, South Carolina and Louisiana.
