MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Bucks players Andre Jackson Jr. and AJ Green held a winter gear drive to help keep kids warm this winter.
Fans brought new coats, hats, gloves, scarves and packaged socks to be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee. The two players helped with the distribution Monday, Feb. 2.
Jackson held his second annual winter gear drive. He said the effort means a lot because he struggled to have coats as a kid growing up with a single mother.
"A coat was one of the things that was a little more expensive, you know it was hard to get a hold of a good one," Jackson said. "So I just tried to do my best now that I have to just be able to give back to the people that need."
Winter gear from the drive was also donated to kids in Jackson's hometown of Amsterdam, N.Y. as well as Green's hometown of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
