Bucks player Larry Sanders suspended five games for smoking pot

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks have announced Center Larry Sanders has been suspended five games for violating the National Basketball Association's drug policy.


The Milwaukee Bucks released a statement saying, \"Larry Sanders has a responsibility to every person in our organization and our fans. We are all disappointed by the news of his suspension.\"


Bucks player Larry Sanders released his own statement when news of the suspension broke. \"I apologize to the entire Bucks organization and our fans for being suspended five games for using marijuana in violation of the NBA Anti-Drug Program,\" says Sanders. \"I take full responsibility for my actions.\"


Sanders already missed a large portion of the 2013-2014 season due to a hand injury he sustained in a bar fight.
