Bucks center Brook Lopez fined for altercation with Kings player

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez will be fined by the NBA for his role in an on-court altercation with Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles. Giannis Antetokounmpo says he will be reaching into his pockets to help Lopez pay.

The incident happened in the final seconds of the game on Monday, March 13, when Lyles fouled and then pushed Giannis Antetokounmpo in the back. The NBA says Lopez escalated the situation by confronting Lyles. Lyles, according to the NBA, further escalated the situation by striking Lopez in the face and grabbing and holding him around the neck.

Both players were ejected from the game.

According to the NBA, Lopez has been fined $25,000 and Lyles has been suspended one game without pay for their roles in the altercation.

Lyles will service his suspension on March 15, when the Kings play the Chicago Bulls.

Lopez told Antetokounmpo, "I got your back," and the Greek Freak was more than appreciative of the gesture. HE says Lopez is his guy for life and reimbursing him for the fine.
