Brookfield's Nora Collins Goes from Summerfest to Nashville Contract

Brookfield's Nora Collins has come a long way from playing coffee houses and the Tiki Hut at Summerfest.

The singer/songwriter has signed an artist development contract in Nashville, but still took time to return to the "Big Gig" this year to show appreciation for her Wisconsin fans.

"I play almost every day, twice a day at the Tiki Hut" Collins said gleefully during a live interview on the CBS 58 News at 4. "It's cool vibe. Everybody's supportive. I wouldn't miss it."

She also had a performance on the US Cellular Stage with her trio.

Another exciting milestone for her is a new CD. Collins  is looking for Wisconsin fans to help her pick out the top four tracks when she does the nationwide release.

"My goal is to keep writing the best songs I can every day and share them with everyone. I wouldn't be where I am now if it weren't for the people of Wisconsin."

The Music Publishing and Artist Development Deal with MV2 Entertainment in Nashville, TN means Collins is now a full-time professional Songwriter.

The company is headed by industry veterans Clay Myers and Tony Harrell.

Collins advice to other artists just trying to get booked at Summerfest: "You gotta be strong. Play out as much as you can. It's word of mouth. Do your thing. Be yourself."
