Brink of elmination: Brewers lose 1-0 in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH - The Brewers chances of securing the NL's final wild card spot have been reduced to the slimmest of possibilities after the Crew's 1-0 nothing loss in Pittsburgh Sunday.

Milwaukee now trails by 4.5 games and plays just six more games this season. The Pirates, who lead the race for the final wild card spot, have seven games remaining.

Russell Martin's RBI single in the 7th was the game's only run. Wily Peralta's strong performance was negated by the fact the Vance Worley and the Pirates bullpen held the Brewers off the board for all nine innings. Ryan Braun lined out to center field with two men on to end the game.

The Brewers come home for the final weekend of the season, a three game series against the Cubs.
